Business Development Manager

We’re looking for a professional, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our growing team as our new Business Development Manager. This rewarding position fills several vital roles including the management of our company’s prospecting database, calling prospects, and setting appointments. Attention to detail and organizational/listening skills are critical to the success of this position. 

Strong telephone skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in telemarketing and appointment setting. A technical (IT) background is a plus, but not mandatory.

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Compensation: $20 – $25 per hour base plus commissions

Hours: Full Time

Job Description

* Initiate contact with local business owners by making outbound calls.  

* Update and create appropriate activities, opportunities and/or calendar entries from assigned call lists.

* Schedule first time appointments for the outside sales person.

* Use the company’s lead follow-up process to qualify, classify, and route leads to the appropriate sales person.

* Update prospect/lead information in the company’s CRM system. 

* Make 60-85 outbound calls per day to prospects, following up on marketing campaigns and other outreaches or initial contacts.  

* Scrub/clean prospect list prior to making phone calls.  

* Schedule consultations with leads and other interested parties.

* Assist in rescheduling or cancelling client consultation meetings as necessary. 

* Update all records in the company’s CRM with accurate and complete information. This will include keeping good records of all conversations and accurately updating the status of leads.   

* Use the company’s database, LinkedIn, and other resources to find prospects and set appointments for our outside sales rep. 

Experience and Requirements

* 3-5 years minimum in sales lead generation experience.

* Superior communication skills on the phone, in written correspondence, and in-person.

* Highly motivated, creative mentality that won’t stop prospecting and searching for new clients.

* Professional demeanor with the ability to easily handle rejection or difficult prospects and clients.

* Willingness to study and learn about the MSP industry (We’ll teach you everything you need to know).

* Outstanding work ethic: honest, reliable, dependable, on-time, hard-working, a team player.

Benchmarks and KPIs:

* PERSONALLY produce and schedule 16 qualified appointments per month. 

* Place a minimum of 60 outbound calls per day. 

* Maintain 100% accuracy within the company’s database. 

* Meticulously follow the companies inside sales process, which includes tracking and reporting on key metrics, updating records appropriately, following scripts, and other SOPs.
